The Our Youth, Inc. Special Reading Program is a logical teaching sequence of phonics and skills needed to become a good reader. Volunteer education professionals have developed this school-tested program and successfully using it for over six years. The program is used as a primary teaching tool for new readers and remedial students needing additional help. This individualized program is successful with every type of student, including those who have ADD, social problems, and difficult home situations. Most students who have been in the special reading program have brought their grades up two to three grade levels in approximately six months to a year. Positive attitudes, self-confidence, as well as, all school work tend to improve as reading levels go up.
The special reading program is offered during the school year and the first month of the summer.
